The Imposter
The “Black Saddled Toby” is highly toxic and predators know. They stay well clear of this little puffer! The Mimic Filefish on the other hand is not. So the Mimic Filefish imitates the colours and patterns of the Toby, and furthermore, even imitates the Toby’s behaviour and signature swimming style. The imposter is often seen shadowing the ‘real’ Toby to further confuse predators.
